I was distracted again today, but managed a very nice 4k for the day. I could be writing so much more, but I've been dealing with some writer's block lately.
Word count:
20,226. Only a bit over 4k from catching up to Tuesday's 25k.
Inner Critic:
Appeased, but I haven't written enough for her to critique.
Actual Novel:
11,192, which is pretty good considering the whole situation. Woo.
Characters Dead: 1
None.
Where are they?
She's about to go to the circus. [I really need to rewrite this all in editing...it's so damn sluggish.]
Bed time.

Correction: Off to a REALLY rough start.
Last night - first night of NaNo I hit a wall.
Although I'm not sure you could say you hit a wall if you didn't have any momentum to begin with. What few words I did manage to write was a rambling of ideas and plans rather than an actual story and probably doesn't even count.
This is probably the first year I've self-sabotaged to the point of stand-still before I wrote anything. I blame the sickness for addling my brain and allowing myself to focus on a plot that I knew had massive holes in it, but 20/20 in hindsight and all that.
And to make things worse I'm still ill along with a few other issues I choose not to disclose.
Simply put I'm not in a good mood. On the bright side, I was in this very position in 2008. I began with a plot that was failing with little to nothing written on Day 3 and guess what - I wrote 75k.
So I'm not going to give up. I'm definitely going to ignore my inner critic and come up with something I'm willing to write over the course of 30 (now 28 days).
I can do this.

Lack of Sleep = Writer's Block?
I haven't a clue, but after being excited and thrilled and full of ideas. I came home to a headache, chores and finally writing. But by the time I sat down to write, I only managed to get out 342 words before the Sandman started to tug at my eyelids.
So I won't meet the quota tonight, but I will make up for it tomorrow full force. I must, there is a painting of a corndog on a plane at stake seen here.
Yes. Penny and I are racing for this beauty or at least a replica. I'm not sure what our goal is (finished stories, both stories finished, 100k or 50km who knows?), but it's got us motivated.
G'night!

So much for the write-a-thon
I've hit a semi-block. I need to figure out some issues before it'll be fixed, but I have at least 1,000 words before I need to write that part anyway.
As for my write-a-thon it died for some noble reasons:
1. Class
2. Drinkin
3. Social drinkin [I went to a party instead of being a loner--woot!]
So I figure I'll just write my butt off tomorrow, tuesday and onward.
Hazah!
But I did reach quota at like 9pm. So I did good today.
P.S.
My antagonist Othena has finally been given powers--telekinesis. She can move objects with her mind and people too [sort of like involuntary levitation].
G'night.
